About Our Organisation from Sir Anand Satyanand

I would like to express warm congratulations to the New Zealand Indian Senior Citizens Association for achieving 20 years of service to its members.
I feel a connection with the New Zealand Indian Senior Citizens Association that goes back to its inaugural days, as my parents were among its founding members and spoke of it frequently.
This Association, and the many others that have been subsequently established, provides an important social grouping for senior citizens seeking the company of like-minded.
It recognises that as we age, it becomes more difficult to maintain old friendships – as well as establishing new ones – as the natural opportunities to socialise become more limited.
It also acknowledges that there is something very special about sharing time with people of a similar age, with a similar life experience. This can be especially important for people who have migrated to New Zealand from another country.
The life of this Association to date shows that many senior citizens have enjoyed the opportunity to socialise in this way.
I congratulate all who have been involved in the New Zealand Indian Senior Citizens Association and I look forward to being part of the 20-year celebrations.
